More About Our Farm
Flamig Farm has been in our family since 1907 and has been through many transitions. During it’s 100 plus years the farm has gone from a 12 cow dairy, to a few thousand chickens for egg production and through a time of growing 10 acres of organic vegetables.
Home of the “Big Backwards EGGS Sign” in West Simsbury, CT our farm’s mission is to grow, raise and cultivate many things and beings but above all optimism. We believe that positive thinking brings positive things to our environment, to our animals, to those of us who live and work here and, of course, to our valued guests.
In 2014, when Julie and Nevin Christensen, owners of Flamig Farm, were looking to renew their wedding vows a close family friend suggested that they host the celebration right here on the farm. It was the most serene backdrop with the rolling hills glowing as the sun set behind them. And in the midst of the joyous occassion, a light bulb sparked. In that moment the dream of hosting couples here at the farm for their Big Day was set forward.
